Trend Micro keeps removing an executable from a game I am playing, how can I find and restore it?

I purchased and downloaded an older game from Steam and Trend Micro removed the player.exe file from the game when I went to load it. How can I find and restore this file and exempt it from being removed next time I scan?

Thanks for asking here! To get around your issue, let's put the player.exe file in Internet Security's exception list. You may refer to procedures below for detailed steps:

1. Disable Trend Micro Security first:
Disabling or enabling your Trend Micro Security software

2. Download your game from Steam, then turn Internet Security back on.

3. Add the player.exe file to Internet Security's Exception List:
Configuring the Exception List of Trend Micro Security software

4. Perform manual scan to check if your problem is solved.

Please let us know if you were able to resolve your issue by trying the above steps. If still unsuccessful, could you provide a bit more detail (e.g. name of the game, error massage you're seeing), and we'll investigate further. Thanks!
