Hi David,

In Holland we have a lot of calls from Fake Microsoft Help-desk, that they got logs from your Computer that you must have a virus! They play it well, they let you see the windows log-files (There are always Yellow and red things there) and then they ask of they may help you!
Then they let you download a Teamvieuwer and try to get you let them on your PC.
I got also the same caller and i play stupid and dove till about half a hour till we came at the point he wants the password and then i told him he can go to hell and some other things i would not repeat here!
So i hope he has a huge phone bill ;)

Kind regards,
Tom

Hi John,

It looks like a phishing mail. Has he a E-Mail address for answer address  to send the password?
Did he download things on the Computer to do things? Did they  speak to him by Phone or just by mail? Did you a full scan with TM?
You may try some of the free Utility's from TM

I agree with Tom.  Clients contact me with this kind of stuff daily.  I would view it as a phishing incident and do NOT pay Google or allow anyone to access the machine.  Once you let them on, you could be open to bigger problems.  You can download cleaning tools on another machine and copy them over on a flash drive.
