Good question. Can you send a cell phone pic of the screen or describe the wording in great detail? I am interested in this too. If using a browser at the time, which one? Thanks.

I hope to never get this screen again but who knows.   All you have to do is google red screen internet warning and you will get multiple pages with the information you need to analyze .Basically it is a scam to get you to call a tech support number to charge you to fix or gain control of your computer.    I purchased the Trend Maximum package and does this protect me from malware and if so what are you guys missing.

I'd be interested to know if we are getting the same red screen. I know there are variations. I would imagine that there are variations from the same source, and variations from copy-cat sources. Of course, even with a pic, we don't know what is going on behind the scenes, but a pic may add a little more clarity to those trying to troubleshoot the scenario and to TM if they are trying to protect us more fully.

Hello ducey.charles and welcome to the Community!

Hi to you to ircil56! Thank you for your helpful insights with the problem of our dear friend.

The issues that you are encountering might be a Technical Support Scam. Below are some symptoms of having a Tech Support Scam:

• Telling you have an error and needs to fix it as soon as possible
• Displaying a fake Tech support scam contact number
• Displaying a price to pay to fix contrived device, platform, or software problems/error
• Comes with an alarming sound (sometimes)
• Can't move your mouse or can't close the scam page (for some cases)

The Trend Micro program is made to respond to these support scams that are already on our list of blacklisted websites. Perhaps, the site that you have visited is not yet registered on our database. You should be both reminded that those Internet warning messages are just a scam and your computer is not infected by any malware.

If in case that you encounter this again, please do provide to us the screenshot of the pop up warning message. You may also take note of the following:

1. Tech Support Scam URL:
2. Error Message:
3. Phone Number for Tech Support Scam:
4. Last Visited Website:
5. Affected Web Browsers: (e.g. Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge)

It will be a great help for us in preventing this issue in the future.

All the best,

Trend Micro Home Users Community

Here is what happened to a laptop I worked on that was using Firefox. You can see the phone number in the pic.
