No access to USB Device after programm update.

After upgrading MaximumSecurity last week, my backup software (MacriumReflect) gives me error on event 513 when trying to make a backup to my external Intenso 5TB USB drive.
The USB drive is only connected during backups.

I had Folder Shield activated for USB devices before upgrading.

I added backupsoftware to allowed software and deactivated Folder Shield. But i still get the same error. All went fine before upgrading MaximumSecurity.

Hi, order. Welcome to the Home Users Community!

Can we try temporarily disabling the Trend Micro program before using the backup software again just to isolate the issue? There's a Trend Micro icon on the system tray that gives you an option to "Exit" when you click on it.

Thank you! :)

Did you restart the MSLLDP service (accessing services.msc)?

It seems to be a Macrium user service permission issue.

A simple question: can you manually access this disk and create, modify (write something and save) and delete, for example a notepad text file?
If yes, it is Macrium related for sure, I suggest you to reinstall Macrium.

Another simple question, can you check what happens with a different disk/backup path?

Hi Max,

to make it short: I NEED a backup - urgent - so i don ́t have time to fiddle around.

Because there seems to be no easy way to fix this. i made it the quick ́n ́dirty way:
I did a quick-format on the USB device (lost all prior backups *eeck*) and am now running a complete new backup with a fresh definition.

Right know the backup is still running (will take 4h anyway) - before the backup aborted just in the beginning.

So i keep my fingers crossed till it finishes successfully ;o)

Thank you for your efforts anyway, Olli
