why does ptsvchost keep hammering my hard drive?

My disc keeps getting hammered almost permanently by ptsvchost - no idea why. Task manager shows disk usage between 75 and 100%. Suspending this service drops the disk use to almost zero. Any ideas why?

It might be due to the PC Health Checkup features which are currently running. This would increase your disk usage as the process runs.
