Trend Micro Internet Security scan (quck and full) returns message no treats found. Still getting malware popup messages.

Do I have to do something additional to eliminate malware popup messages?  I've scanned, same message, no threats or problems found, but keep getting pop up messages with that state my PC is infected, or my antivirus software has expired.

My Trend Micro page states it does not expire until 9/30/2023.

How do I eliminate the malware popups???

Hi @takedown4_2!

Welcome to Trend Micro Home Users Community!

When Trend Micro identifies harmful software, links, or activity on the computer, pop-up notifications may display.

For this concern, these are the possible reasons:

  • Malicious Browser Extension
  • Potentially Unwanted program Installed

It can be fixed by the following solutions:

  • Get rid of suspicious browser extensions
  • Remove Potentially Unwanted Application
  • Flush, register, release and reset your DNS.
    1. Hold down the Windows key and press R. (This will open the Run dialogue.)
    2. Type cmd and press Enter. (This will open a command prompt.)
    3. Type ipconfig /flushdns and press Enter.
    4. Type ipconfig /registerdns and press Enter.
    5. Type ipconfig /release and press Enter.
    6. Type ipconfig /renew and press Enter.
    7. Type netsh winsock reset and press Enter.
    8. Reboot the computer.

If the solutions listed above did not work, Can you tell me what exactly Trend Micro said? It would be preferable if you could provide us a screenshot of the notification.

Hope this helps
