Programs slow to start

There's one setting in Trend Micro Maximum Security, "Check if programs try to make unauthorized changes to system settings that could threaten your security", which massively increases the time it takes for certain programs to start. The graphic equalizer I use, called Peter's Equalizer APO Configuration Extension (Peace), goes from starting in 3 seconds to taking over 3 minutes. I have to disable my antivirus's protection to make my programs start in a reasonable amount of time, which defeats the purpose. Is there any way to fix this?

Hi @Tony,

Welcome to the Trend Micro Users Community!

Could you provide the current version of Trend Micro installed on your device? If a particular application is having problems with Trend Micro enabled, please specify its name. Additionally, did you observe high CPU usage for the affected application or browsers while Trend Micro was running?

You can also restart the Trend Micro components by completing these steps:
1. Open the Trend Micro Diagnostic Toolkit.
2. Navigate to the (C) Uninstall Tab and select (5) Stop All Components.
3. On the same tab, click (2) Delete Now to remove security update files, and (3) Delete Now to delete Trend Micro Proxy files.
4. Click (4) Start Components and monitor the issue for around 10–15 minutes.

Tried that, still not good. Uninstalling or stopping Trend fixes the problem. Both Trend Micro Internet Security and Maximum Security
