mpc cleaner
virus installed on my computer, installs random programs. Cannot find virus. Virus installed MPC cleaner on comp. Control panel does not see it. Task manager cannot close it. Cannot remove it. First: Why cant TREND see the virus? Second: How to remove virus and MPC cleaner?

@sfmatma Thanks you for informing this issue. Like @pragmatic said, some programs are categorized by us as PUP, or potentially unwanted program/software. PUPs are not always detected as "virus", since some provide legitimate working features, that's why your installed Maximum Security did not "see" this program. Many times, PUPs are installed as a bundle with another free software that you've downloaded and installed.
Now, un-install of MPC Cleaner might not be as straight forward as removing it from Control Panel. If you'd like, we can pass you information to our support center, who will be able to work with you in-depth to investigate if any virus infection occurred and how to remove MPC Cleaner. 2. how to remove? go to the control panel and uninstall it
same goes for other software that shouldn't be there
just take a look at the name of the software and the publisher
if it looks suspicious, do a google search and see if it has to go away
