Can't install Internet Security after Windows 11 Update

Ever since I upgraded to Windows 11 my installation has been broken.

I have used the removal tool and tried reinstalling it several times.

It reaches near the end about 98% progress and I get the error message:

"Installation Incomplete

A problem prevented the installer from completely setting up Trend Micro Internet Security.

Please use the Uninstall Tool and then try installing the software again.

(Error code: #1603, 3002, o\0xe0220019)

No changes have been made to this computer."

Hi, selmor

One possible reason why you are encountering this problem is because

The following dependency services are not running:

  • Base Filtering Engine (service name: BFE)
  • Cryptographic Services (service name: CryptSvc)

For assistance on this one kindly check this link

Hope this helps, Let us know how it goes

@tm_karr

I used the tool, rebooted, and continued the installation. Similar result.

I also tried the workaround from the support link:

https://helpcenter.trendmicro.com/en-us/article/tmka-18603

Didn't work.

Having the same problem with MS Surface Pro 8, Win11.

Followed the instructions per above:

The installer goes to 98% complete and then shuts down.

Hi @highhat,

Welcome to Trend Micro Home User Community!

Can you try to run Trend Micro Remnant File Remover Tool then reinstall the program? Here is a guide on how to use the tool:

Delete old Trend Micro files with Remnant File Remover Tool

You may also try to check Windows updates if the issue will persist.

I hope this helps.

Apologies for the inconvenience, ratboyhawaii.

Let's try to do a clean reinstall on your Trend Micro program. Please follow the steps below:

1. Check and delete all Trend Micro folders and files manually in the following locations:
     ○ Program Files
     ○ Program Data
     ○ AppData

2. Delete Temp and %temp% files

3. Empty the Recycle Bin

4. Run the Remnant File Remover Tool.

5. After that, restart your computer then install it using the installer on this link: How to install Trend Micro for Windows bought from Best Buy

Let us know if you need further assistance.
