why do I have to turn on this feature every day?

Please try to check if your device uses Power Saving Mode to save battery, which stops the running apps. For more information, you may refer to this link below:
Web Guard keeps turning off on Android
Also, can you go to the Battery settings? Go to background usage limits and add Mobile Security to the Never sleeping apps list.
