As for android version apk file types are considered as viruses. Trend Micro detects and removes any apk file whether its installed or just downloaded and not yet installed. Last year Trend Micro has won the Best android security award from AV test. From my personal experience Trend Micro offers comprehensive protection for mobile phones.
