Trend Micro won't update on my MacBook

My Trend Mirco says it needs updating. So I click to update it, and it does it's thing however the red cross still wont disappear, says it needs to be updated again. I've tried uninstalling however it will not allow me to as it needs updating. Same thing happens when I attempt to do this...I'm using a mac. Any help appreciated! Thank you :)
