How to disable collecting "Junk Files" data when performing a scan?

Whenever I perform a custom scan on a file, which typically takes a second or two, I then have to wait an additional 15 seconds for the utility to gather information on how much disk space is consumed by "junk" so that it can try to upsell "Cleaner One Pro".  I paid good money for Trend Micro Antivirus - it should be "ad free" -  there's no need to try to upsell EVERY TIME I RUN A SCAN.   If you want to provide an option for scanning for "junk files", then fine, I can do so if I want.  But when I want to scan a file for a virus, that's all I want to do. How can I disable the "Junk File" processing? Thanks.

Hi @bob_7f4fe2 ,

If you wish to skip the scanning for junk files, you may uncheck the "Check for unneeded system files" from the settings.

To do this:

  • Click the gear icon on the right side of the Scan button
  • Under Security & Tuneup Controls, click PC Health Checkup
  • Uncheck "Check for unneeded system files"
