Cannot open Trend Micro file, after renewing my service, downloaded file won't open for me to activate renewed Trend Micro Security

Hi,

Running Windows 10... Days before yesterday renewed my Trend Micro Security service, one that expired worked fine.. 

I download the file, go to open it, and nothing... nothing happens.. leave computer on for hours and nothing appears, so that I can proceed to install it... 

Tried alot of help tips from on here and elsewhere

Now trying  HOUSE CALL scan as Trend Micro suggests to see if any malware issues etc

(p.s I am not computer savvy, so going through the basics)

We can try to install it again. Please try to follow the steps below:

  1. On your keyboard, press the Windows CTRL + SHIFT + ESC keys at the same time.
    • This will open Windows Task Manager.
  2. Under the Processes tab, look for Trend Micro processes, then click the End Task button.
  3. Try to install Trend Micro again.

Thankyou Cathy!!! It worked :) 

In the processes tab was 4 rows saying Trend Micro that I then hit END TASK on and download has worked perfectly, and installed, currently doing updates.

Upon checking here, your subscription has been renewed. You already have the latest version installed on your computer and there's no need to install it again.

 

Can you try to open Trend Micro? The expiry date should be updated now.

Hi Cathy,

I cannot find Trend Micro anywhere on my computer working...

In my downloaded files I have the file you download and when go to open it nothing happens...

I see when I log into Trend Micro help page it says I have it rotecting my PC

I am confused, as I cannot find the actual program anywhere to open and say scan my PC for viruses etc
