For several days the TrendMicro scan box has shown 80%, but sits idle. iT does not respond to Stop or Minus option. Ctrl/Alt/Del/Task managerb tells me 2 Anti-Malware iterations are open, but only one ismrunning, also Client Session Age.. is not running.

We apologize for the inconvenience you are experiencing with the Trend Micro program latest version. We were already aware of it and thank you so much Tom Emmelot for providing the hotfix that was created for this type of issue. Please let us know if you encounter the same problem after running the hotfix.
