I too have maximum security 2017 (11.0.1186) and I didn't get any software upgrades from Trend Micro. The latest one is 11.0.1186, perhaps you got that and it asked you to restart your computer for the upgrade to take effect. As for any antivirus program updates/upgrades, it may be necessary for the computer to do a restart for the update to take effect, because the computer may be using the files be used during the update process. Check that you have 11.0.1186 installed?

Hi @ahsans, your help was greatly appreciated! :D

Hi @RB092098, thanks for trying our new Community!

For your question, as @ahsans mentioned, after the program updates/upgrades, it may be necessary for the computer to do a restart for the update to take effect.

Here's an online help doc to help you checking if you are running the latest version of Maximum Security.
