Windows 10, Firefox and Trend Micro maximum aren't mixing

Just upgraded my 1 year old Win 7 machine to Windows 10. However, when I try to run Firefox, I get the message "Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. ..."

If I turn off Trend Micro, Firefox will run. Other alternative is to run Firefox as administrator. If when this happens, I turn Trend Micro back on, Firefox runs poorly.

How can I make Firefox and Trend Micro be friends again?

Thanks,

Ronnie

Hi ,

I suggestion :

- use latest version Firefox

- Remove Trend Micro

- Reset System

- Download latest version Trend Micro Maximum Security ( 2016 ( v 10 )

- Install New Version

There are several factors that would have caused that error message, like permission to the program. To know more about it, you may click on this link

Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file" error when you try to install, update or start a program or file

Lastly, try re-enabling the Trend Micro program by following this link:

Disabling or enabling your Trend Micro Security software

Thanks folks for the suggestions.  My one and only action has been to uninstall and reinstall Firefox, and though the problem reappeared a couple of times after that, for the last 3 days everything has behaved just fine.  Yay!
