With a detection rate of 100% (most of the time), I would say you do not need anything else beside Trend Micro.

Hi @Jhja,

Thank you for your reply!

Most security software that has no Real-Time Protection is not considered incompatible by our software during installation.
We just highly recommend having just one antivirus program to avoid confusion for malware detection. Performance issues can likely occur on the computer such as high CPU and Memory usage if you have two or more security software installed on the computer.

The detection of Malwarebytes is probably more aggressive than our software; however, this type of detection is prone to False Positive Detection. Rest assured that our software always has the latest malware pattern and is very careful in detecting and removing applications - we cannot just detect and remove unwanted programs because some of these programs are installed with a user-license agreement. Removing these without the user's consent can lead to legal issues.

I hope this clear answers your question.

Please let us know if you have any other inquiries and we will be glad to assist you. Thank you!

Hi TM_Nicole

I know I can't run two different traditional antivirus software on one PC.

I haven't used the payed version, but as Malwarebytes Labs claim they have build their software to be compatible with all major antivirus software and I consider TM to be among major antivirus software producer and TM haven't listed it as incompatible too. If it is incompatible you need to update your list.

I don't know if it's more aggressive or not, but it covers a broader variety of malwares.
Most PUPs you didn't install intentionally is unwanted and therefor must be legal to be removed by third party software I think.

Hope you understand my English ;)

Hi @Jhja,

We appreciate your thoughts and opinions regarding this matter.

Just to let you know, Malwarebytes is not detected as incompatible software by Trend Micro. This is the reason why it is not included in the list. However, we always recommend to not use 2 or more security software to not compromise the performance of our program and create issues as well.

For removing unwanted programs, PUPs or as we call PUAs are created by legitimate or illegitimate software publishers. With these, they may have the same process of installation as legitimate programs. This is the reason why Trend Micro does not remove it automatically. Also, we do note that for some cases, the user may find the application useful enough that they are willing to endure its effects. As such, we define these applications as potentially unwanted.

Please let us know if you have any other inquiries and we will be glad to assist you. Thank you!

Hi chrlshlmn and welcome to the community!

Thanks for asking here.

It is not advisable to have 2 or more security software on your computer, because aside from the fact that it will consume large amount of resources on your computer and the functionality and behavior of those software can cause performance issues and make your computer more vulnerable to threats. It will compromise the  performance of our program and can result to series of issues as well.

Rest assured that our program will always protect you from all types of threats on the web and your digital life will be secured.

The article below lists some of the things you can do to prevent viruses from infecting your computer.
