I had threatening error message pop up in a full window setting today giving me microsoft error number and instructed me to call a toll free number to get help with the problem and not shut the window before calling the number or they "microsoft" would have no choice but shut down my computer. It turned out to be a third party co.trying to sell me internet or wifi anti-hacking software, is there any such thing? I also want to know how these got around my Trend Micro protection and in my computer this way. I have never had anything like this happen, not until I got windows 10 is there any connection?

Thanks for letting us know about this issue.

According to your description, I suspect the pop-up you saw was a Technical Support Scam and the Wi-Fi anti-hacking software is not a legit Microsoft software. Here's an online document that has related information on this:
About Suspected Third Party Technical Support Scams

The origin of the error message is a web link click, a downloaded free software, and other sources. Do you know if you recently installed any free software? If yes, I recommend you uninstall the software or any unwanted software from your computer by below support page:
Uninstalling Potentially Unwanted Application (PUA)
