I clicked on a website earlier and my computer froze, it had a message with a blue screen and said I won't be able to close my browser (which I couldn't) and said not to restart my computer or it will kill the hard drive. It had a number to call instead. I restarted my computer anyway. Why didn't Trend Micro detect this and warn me?

Thanks for letting us know this issue. We would like to pass this case to our support center, where a trouble ticket will be created and a support engineer will work with you to investigate and resolve. To proceed with this case redirect, please provide your Trend Micro product version, OS, and basic PC info, and we'll assist you as soon as possible.

Also, if there is any way you could send a picture of what you're seeing on your screen, it would be quite helpful. This community is also accessible from your mobile phone browser.

I don't know my Trend Micro product version. If you can guide me on how to find it, I will provide that information for you. My OS is Windows 8. I'm on an HP laptop purchased brand new less than a year ago. I cannot provide you with a screen shot because my computer froze up when I clicked the link, but I have a link to the post on Facebook that I clicked. As you can see b some of the comments, others have experienced this as well. Thanks for your prompt reply. Here's a link to the FB post in which I clicked: https://www.facebook.com/permalink.ph...

Official Response
No problem on the product version, we can look it up in our system here. Unfortunately, we're not able to view the FB link you provided. Could you paste that link again?
Before we redirect your case, could you also please check our online article to see if this is something you're experiencing?

If it matches what you're seeing, then your PC is most likely not infected with malware. Though some clean up of unwanted applications that displayed this web page would still need to be performed.
