Why so frustrating ?

It keeps bombarding me with unnecessary updates (that I wasn't notified was going on in the background), which requires me to restart the PC constantly.I'm sorry but your product is not too user-friendly.

Welcome to TM Home users Community, a public site where volunteers try to help each-other , also there are TM Employees that can give answers, I am just a volunteer.
Updates of TM happen I believe every 3 hours, but need a restart all the program is updated and that almost does not happen.
So I do not quite understand your problem.
Which OS do you use and which TM version?
I'd love to hear it .
