Why is TM shutting off my wi fi?

Wi fi being turned off with no notification. Phone tells me TM has shut it off.

Can you tell me the model of your mobile phone and at what percentage of the phone's battery does this usually happen? 

The internet connectivity and Wi-Fi configuration of your phone can be controlled by the Trend Micro Mobile Security application. It has two features that may do this: the Smart Power Saver and Just-a-Phone Mode.

Please open the Trend Micro Mobile Security application on your phone and then tap on System Tuner. Please check whether the switches for Just-a-Phone Mode or Smart Power Saver are turned on.

It's a Samsung Note 8. I really haven't paid any attention to the battery level, but I don't believe it was low. I was first alerted to the problem when I got a text from Verizon saying my data was running low. Realized wi fi had been shut off. I turned it on and went to the local Verizon store and spoke to them. It had been shut off again! Kid there said it was usually a software problem and removed a couple of apps. Came home and it was off again. Contacted Verizon Tech coach... they had me do a reset and a few other things. Seemed fine last night, then earlier today I went to share a picture and found it had been shut off again. This phone is new and I haven't even begun to learn where everything is, but I started exploring and found out that TM had turned it off, at least the last time. I'm not sure when I turned the TM Smart Power Saver on, but it was on... Just a Phone Mode was off and I turned it on... but I don't want it on. Is there someway to simply turn off all these features? All I really care about is virus/malware protection. At the moment, I've uninstalled the app and will reinstall when I get a better handle on this problem.

TM Smart Power Saver shuts down your Wifi automatically if it detects that you're not using your mobile phone. You may try disabling the TM Smart Power Saver and Just a Phone mode.

-I'm not a Trend Micro representative, but I like to give you some suggestion-

Open your Trend Micro Mobile, tap on 'System Tuner'.
Disable 'Automatic Just a Phone', or somehing like this. 

Note: if you're using Trend Micro Mobile in free version, automatic Just a Phone function will not work, just be sure to disable 'Just a Phone', in the same screen. 
Again, 'Smart Energy Saver' is in the same page.
