Why Firefox slowdown

Hello Team,

This time a question from me, I noticed a slow start of Firefox!
If I start Firefox at the moment, it takes 8 seconds before I have started my Google / nl home page! If I switch TM Max off, then 1 second! Google Chrome is less affected by this, but also slowed!
Have Firefox reinstalled twice, but that did not help!
So like the next step, or have you noticed the same already?
Win10 / TM Max / Firefox 58.

Kind regards,
Tom

Having the same issue, both browsers but more with firefox. It launches over 10-12 seconds, then locks up when visiting a new site or opening another tab. As soon as I kill TM both browsers run smooth. Edge is not affected as far as I can tell. I don't use it normally but it doesn't seem all that slow. Also Win10, TM Internet Security, Firefox 58.0.1, Chrome 64.0.3282.119

Agreed Tom I'd also like to know why it happens. I'm having the issue on a second machine now. It's pretty inconvenient going through this. Same as before, the second I turn off Protection firefox runs smooth, then as soon as its back on everything lags. I have all the TM Firefox add-ons disabled so that's not the issue.

OK, a month later and its happening again on one of my machines. It's kind of ridiculous to have to reinstall a program to get it to work right every month. Now on Firefox 59.0.1 and TM Internet Security 12.0. My subscription ends in April. I like TM but I really don't want to do this over and over and its happened to me twice on one machine and once on another. I probably won't renew. The slowdown is a dramatic as the last time but its enough to be a bother.

I have the same issue. Slow Firefox start and for new tabs also.
I see high cpu usage of coreServiceShell.exe during this time.

It occurs every time I receive an update from firefox. It goes back to normal after 2-3 days without change from my side.

Hi Tom Emmelot

Yeah, I was able to see that. However, reinstalling the program doesn't work on his case that is why we are checking for other solutions. Note also that coreServiceShell.exe should always be running because it manages all the core components of the Trend Micro program. We'll update y'all once we hear from our team. :)

Hi Tom Emmelot, Reinstalling did not solve the problem for me because it comes back time later, same as I stop and start the components in the Trend Micro Diagnostic Toolkit.

Hi TM_Josephine , the engineer(Level 2) did not find out anything at all on how to solve this problem definitively, quite the opposite at first he tried to convince me that it was normal behavior after I filled him with arguments and showed him the problem during remote assistance , he just stopped and started the components, as I had previously informed him, this solution is temporary the problem back time later, I have said this several times to the chat agents and they only present me this temporary solution.
I have to make clear here how bad is the program that is used for remote access by the support, several times the engineer could not control my machine and asked to release the access again, this caused wasted hours of my time and his.

Finally, for this bug there is no definitive solution, only temporary, I am considering changing my antivirus

Hi renan.limagomes

Just for the record and sorry if it sounds stupid.
Is there no other program that is doing the same as TM, is Defender off
Did you after the uninstall from TM a disk-cleanup and a register cleanup
Uninstalling Trend Micro Security 2017 using the Uninstall Tool
https://esupport.trendmicro.com/en-us/home/pages/technical-support/maximum-security-2017/1115650.asp...

Using the Trend Micro Remnant File Remover Tool
https://esupport.trendmicro.com/en-us/home/pages/technical-support/maximum-security-2017/1104912.asp...
And than a clean install.

Hope you want to try this.
Good luck.

Kind regards,
Tom
