why does my viral protection keep getting turned off?

Personally, I have not had that problem, but if you check to the right side of this screen under "Related Conversations" you may find your answer there. Good fortune!

@lnsmiles4u Thank you very much for being a long-time Trend Micro product user! Trend Micro Security not being able to remain active could be due to different reasons: conflict software, issue during a background software update, etc.

For your issue, we suggest you to first un-install and re-install Trend Micro Internet Security to reset the program and patterns. You may refer to the help doc below and follow the steps provided:
Reinstalling the latest version of Trend Micro Security program
