Why does my scan stop at 86%?

When I do a scan, it stops at 86%, finding unneeded files. Then freezes. Also cannot exit from scan.

Interesting. I have also had this occur, but was able to exit the screen and re-start the scan which completed after that. In fact, most often my scans will idle at 86% for a couple of minutes, then goes on to optimize. Are you certain that it will not continue after a couple/few minutes?

Thank you for your response.  I left it for a half hour without change.  However, I finally continued to restart and then initiate a new scan, and eventually those I tried completed the cycle.  So I think I am good now.
