update virus and spyware protection not possible

Hi, I need to update virus and spyware protection and the program indicates that I am not connected to internet even I have a very good connection. Even more, the functionality and speed of the laptop is very much affected. Thanks in advance for your support.

Hi Tom, thanks for the proposed solutions. The first one didn't work and the second is not quite a realistic one. If the fresh reinstallation is the solution to be applied in this situation it means for me that Trend is not mature enough.

I think you are too quick with your conclusion.
All software has bugs, your OS, drivers, normal software and AV software. That's why we update almost every day to fix bugs and security errors. Something goes wrong regularly, just look in your error logs of your OS. Sometimes it goes very wrong, then the whole system falls out. Fortunately, you can still start with system recovery. Unfortunately, that is not the case for an AV program, because it is so embedded in your system, it keeps an eye on almost everything in the background. So if something goes wrong with TM, it is therefore necessary to remove everything from TM and to do a new installation. In this way everything is set up again in the right way.
For example, TM is no longer working properly after a system recovery of the OS, MS system recovery does repair its own stuff well but not that of third parties.
So in case of problems after an update of MS or after a system recovery always reinstall TM.
Clean installation is needed so I always do myself:
1 uninstal
2 reboot
3 search the system disk for "Trendmicro" and delete everything
4 search the system disk for "Trend micro" and delete everything
5 Search for the same 2 texts in the register and delete everything
6 reboot
7 install TM
8 reboot

i use for the register search command "Registrar Registry Manager"
I also recommend in TM to select "extra securety" in the "Other settings" menu
This is to ensure that TM starts immediately at start-up, then wait a little longer for the PC to be ready.

Reinstalling the program isn't entirely a workaround but some of our solutions are received via update, and these updates are included in the latest version of our installers. I highly suggest you perform the second step on the link that Tom provided.
