Uninstallation issue with Trend Micro Antivirus 2016

iMac (mid-2011) that I have just done a hard reset of and installed macOS Sierra.

I mistakenly installed Trend Micro Antivirus 2016 rather than the 2017 version which will work with Sierra. I have uninstalled Antivirus 2016 (via moving to Trend Micro folder to trash and emptying trash as the uninstall feature in TrendMicro folder would not uninstall the programme). Now when I try to install Antivirus 2017 it won't let me saying that I have the older version installed. There is no longer any Trend Micro folder in the apps folder or launchpad so how do I rectify this.
