Unauthorized Changes

I had my mother purchase Trend Micro AntiVirus + to protect her computer. I loaded and set it up. The problem that keeps arising,  she downloads a free program and it asks if she wants to download a free trial Antivirus program. She either checks "Yes" or leaves "Yes" checked, not sure which. Then it uninstalls Trend Micro and installs the trial program. I thought I put a password in to prevent unauthorized changes to Trend Micro, but it has happened a couple of times already.

Hi mparkingson. I'm just one of the Trend Micro users here in the community, but the one thing I can say for your situation is that you will have to let your mom know that she can NOT download any other anti-virus program if she's going to use Trend Micro. She does not need one. This is not a case of "Well, if one is good, then more should be better!"

I've used Trend micro for years and have never had a problem with infiltration of my computer(s), so let her know she needs nothing more. She is safe. Good luck!

"let your mom know that she can NOT download any other anti-virus program"

This is not about his mom installing another antivirus, is about TM being uninstalled in spite of password protection.

If is true, this can be a serious problem.

Hi mparkingson540,

Thanks for posting your concern here and welcome to the community!

May I ask what is the software that your mother downloaded that removed Trend Micro program? Kindly attach a screenshot of the software console.

Also, to make sure that you have Trend Micro password protected to prevent anyone who wants to shut down or uninstall the software, kindly click the link below to configure its settings.

Hope this helps! :)
