Unable to update

Not able to update Trend Micro Maximum Security. It is showing "installing an update" for hours. In fact for past one day. Hence not able to run full scan of my system

Sorry to hear this update issue. Update issues could be due to a number of different factors. We suggest you to un-install and re-install Trend Micro Maximum Security to reset the program and patterns. Here's a reference doc to for the steps: Reinstalling the latest version of Trend Micro Security program

I restarted the computer in safe mode, entered Trend Micro software, and ran Check For Updates. The update was found and it installed correctly. Problem resolved.
