This is the world we live in: if you do not know how, you have to pay.

How difficult could be to write down your license key, uninstall TM from the old PC and download and install it again on the new PC??????

Hello racdcor and welcome to Trend Micro Community!

Thank you for posting here.

We currently do not have any promo for $150.00 to change your security program from your old computer to the new one. May I know the phone number that you contacted that offered you this service? You also do not have a recent contact with us with this issue.

Have a great day!

Hi
Sorry i havn`t reply to your comment. Just to go through what actually  happened.
I Had just purchased a new computer and proceeded to transfer Trend micro to the new computer.
Signed into my trend micro account to see which package i had purchased, and downloaded the necessary program. Once downloaded I entered my activation key and contacted the online help.
Online help had just made contact saying they will be with me shortly. I pressed enter and immediately my phone rang, they claimed to be Trent micro tech support , i was none the wiser. He asked me what i was doing ,which i explained. Told me to listen very carefully, get in front of my old computer. We went through a few things and message came up on computer for me to grant them permission to take over. I was a bit sceptical and questioned why he has to take over! His reply was if you want to change over he must perform this. Just before i was about to grant him access he said if you want me to proceed, its going to cost $150.00. I told him That was absurd, that I could purchase new subscription for the same price their phone number is 028357878
I have been in contact with them recently , they are claiming that I went to their website which is incorrect. He Also claims that i had a virus that needed fixing thats why the charge. Funny that he has not even accessed my computer, to make such a claim. That was not even mentioned at the time.
My biggest concern is how they got my details? How safe is Trend Micro when they can intercept information.  Trent micro is there to stop such intrusions.  Hope something can be done. Who knows what their intention are? Thanks for taking interest .in my case. Ray
