Hi Rayhne and welcome to the community!

We do apologize for the inconvenience that it has caused and let us help you with this. Also, can you provide us the names of the trusted programs that are being blocked by Trend Micro?

In the meantime, you may simply add the trusted programs on the Exception List of the Trend Micro program. Please refer to the article below on how to configure the Exception List:

Configuring the Exception List of Trend Micro Security software

We hope this helps and please let us know if the solution works for you.

Thank you and have a great day!

I'll see how that works. I've noticed that when I load Fallout 4, it will take a long time to start when I am running TM. If I turn off TM, it loads right up and works better. How can I fix this?

Hello Rayhne ! Thanks for the fast reply.

It seems that the Fallout 4 program/game is also being checked by the Trend Micro. All of its components are being checked first before executed thoroughly.

Can you try setting this game on the exception list as well and see if it will make improvements?

Hope this helps.

The game is on the exception list. This is very frustrating because it's starting to become apparently that TM is the major reason this game is slow and hard to play. From the sound of it TM may be checking the game while I'm playing it and that's why I'm having sch a hard time with it.

Hello Rayhne and thank you for the quick reply.

Apologies for the inconvenience that you are experiencing, may I ask if you have added the entire folder of Fallout 4 on the exception list of the Trend Micro program? If not please do so and check. Also please try to click on this link and carefully follow the steps.

Trend Micro Security keeps detecting files or programs that are already added to the Exception List

Also please try to pause the User Mode Hooking of the Trend Micro program and check. You can follow this steps.

  1. Open Trend Micro Diagnostic Toolkit from the Start Menu.
  2. Click "B Threats".
  3. Put a Check on the box beside "Pause User Mode Hooking".
I hope this helps.

I've put everything connected to the game in the exceptions list and followed the instructions above. This game is still loading a lot more slowly then when I turn TrendMicro off.

Hello Rayhne,

Sorry to hear the issue still persist, may I ask if the Fallout 4 game is in a shared folder? If it is in a shared folder please try to run this hotfix and check if the issue will still persist.

[Hotfix] Accessing files via shared folder is slow when Trend Micro Security is running

I hope this helps.

Thank you!
