Hello there magicxinno.1 ! Welcome to the community!

We understand that you are having troubles with installing the Trend Micro program as it is prompting that the protection is disabled. Allow me to help you with this.

There are alot of causes why you are having this issue. The list goes from Incompatible Software to Internet/Network related causes.

If you are familiar with checking the installed applications on your computer, kindly proceed with it and check if there are other Antivirus Programs installed on your computer. If there is, we would advise that you remove them all and leave the Trend Micro program only. Those programs are conflicting with the processes that the Trend Micro program is running on your computer, leading to this issue that the protection is being disabled.

Another reason is that maybe, your operating system is not allowing the Trend Micro program to do its job due to restrictions. For this type of problem, you can use our Permission tool by clicking on this link:

Using the Trend Micro Permission Tool

Just proceed by installing this tool and then restart the computer when asked to.

If this tool did not do the job, try enabling the built in Administrator mode on your computer then try checking/installing the Trend Micro Updates from there.

To enable the built in administrator mode/profile, you first need to open the Command Prompt (CMD) as an Administrator and then key in this command

net user administrator /active:yes, and then press Enter.

Take note: you can have this reverted by keying the command net user administrator /active:no

Then try logging off or restarting your computer. You should have the option to select the Administrator Profile. Again, kindly try checking for updates on the Trend Micro program by opening the console and then clicking on he shadow of a person icon on the top right part then select About the Software. This should allow the updates to be installed thoroughly and have the Trend Micro program work as expected now.

If the above fixes doesn't work, You may also proceed with a clean reinstall of the Trend Micro program. There might be some corrupted files upon the last Trend Micro update due to networking failures that is why reinstallation is need.

Follow these steps to do a Clean reinstall

Uninstall the Trend Micro program:

Uninstalling Trend Micro Security and older programs for Windows using the Diagnostic Toolkit

Run Remnant File Remover

Using the Trend Micro Remnant File Remover Tool

Reboot then install the Trend Micro program again.

Installing Maximum Security 2017

Hello there magicxinno.1 ! Thanks for the quick response.

We understand that the steps that I have provided did not work. Allow me to provide further help.

The Trend Micro program is utilizing the Internet to make use of the Real Time Scan. May we know if you are connected to a fast and stable Internet connection? If yes, consider checking your Operating System's updates if there are any. There might some conflicts with your Operating Systems updates with regard to security.

For the logs that you have, I am sorry but our friends from the Technical Support channel can only interpret it. You may want to contact them through the methods on this link:
