Trendmicro keeps unloading itself

Since I updated my computer to the lastest version Internet Security 12 - the software keeps unloading itself from my taskbar. I re-installed it and it was fine for a week. I had to reboot my PC today and it is doing the same thing.

Welcome to TM Home users Community, a public site where volunteers try to help each-other , also there are TM Employees that can give answers.
Can you go to Settings/other settings and put on Extra Security, then ok and restart the computer.

Hi - I tried the Extra Security, restarted the computer, and a few minutes later Trend Micro unloaded itself.

Hi Pensionado,

Than i think de best way to go is to uninstall TM (note your key)
i Quote a TM Employee.

Then follow these steps:

STEP 1: Run the Remnant File Remover Tool
Please click here to download the tool

STEP 2: Run the Permission Tool
Please click here to download the tool

STEP 3: Clear the Temp Folder

  • Press the Windows button on your keyboard and letter "R" both at the same time to open the Run console.
  • Once the Run Console is open, type: %temp%
  • Click OK
  • Doing that will open the "Temp" folder. Please delete all files inside that folder
STEP 4: InstallTrend Micro Maximum Security 2018
Please click here to download the installer file. Please make sure that you will use the installer file from the download link provided in this post.

Hello, cbcpensioners. Thanks for posting and welcome to the Community!

Sorry to hear that you are having issues with the Trend Micro program's latest version. May we know what is the version of your Windows computer? We need to make sure that the Trend Micro program is enabled on your Startup programs or you may do the steps suggested by Tom and let us know what happens then.

Just a minimal correction... For step 4 on Tom's post, since you are using Internet Security program, kindly refer on this link instead.

For Windows 10, open the Task Manager and then click on "More Details". Go to Startup tab and then please make sure all of the entries for Trend Micro is enabled.

What do you mean by unloading? You have mentioned it's gone after rebooting. You sure you don't have a deep freeze on your computer? or something similar?
