Trend micro turned off!

Can anyone let me know why my trendmicro maximum security was turned off this morning as I did not turn it off
Will appreciate a response asap

What was your previously installed antivirus program? Just using the add/remove method to uninstall previous antivirus program doesn't completely remove all remnants of the previous antivirus software. After you have used the add/remove to uninstall your previous antivirus you should have used it's removal/uninstall utility and run it in safe mode to completely remove the previous antivirus software. After that you should have installed Trend Micro.

That's what I learned from my previous antivirus software (Avast Free) I read it from their forums, that after uninstalling it from add/remove use it's removal/uninstall utility. Another thing, in add/remove list right clicking on Trend Micro only shows uninstall, it doesn't show another option (repair), like Avast Free has it when you want to repair avast just in case something weird happens. I don't know much about Trend Micro functions, because I have been using it around a month. I will let someone from Trend Micro to help you out. By any chance, do you happen to have malware in your computer that you may not know off? Did you run MalwareBytes Antimalware Free? Anyways, those are the suggestions that I have for you right now.

Good idea but I've been with Trendmicro for 12years so there was no uninstall. I've obviously turned it back on and was just interested as to how it would be switched off. Just a thought I work off a remote server and I wonder if the IT guys for that server turned it off I will check with them although they know that my laptop belongs to me and I have it secured and they are not allowed to touch my settings. Thx for your reply though was a good one as I wouldn't have known that before
