Hi @jamiecarper and welcome to Trend Micro Community!

Thank you for posting your concern here.

To enable the toolbar on your Safari, follow the steps below:

1. Open the main console of your Trend Micro Antivirus for Mac.
2. Click Web.
3. Go to Web Threat Protection tab.
4. Click the lock icon on the lower left of the main console. A window asking for your password will appear.
5. Tick the check box for Enable Toolbar on Web Browser.
6. A pop-up window will appear with the message:"You must restart your browser for the changes to take effect.", please click on OK.
7. Another pop-up will appear on your screen which has the message: "Are you sure you want to install the extension Trend Micro Toolbar for Mac?", click on Trust.
8. Open Safari to confirm if the toolbar has successfully installed on the browser.

3. Click on Preference.
4. Click on the Extensions tab.
5. Check if the Trend Micro toolbar is ticked ON.

Hello ohviolet and thank you for your response!

Thank you for providing the screen shot.

But we just want to verify, have you tried following the steps provided by TM_Victor above?

We just need to verify if it is enabled as one of your Preferences on your Safari.

You can provide us another screen shot for your Preference tab so we can check it as well.

Please let us know of any updates.

Enjoy your weekend!

Thank you!

Hi ohviolet,

Thank you so much for the response and for your patience. Please allow me to assist you on this.

We will need to check if this issue of not being able to enable the Trend Micro Toolbar is an issue with the Safari. Apple does not usually allow 3rd-party extensions to be installed on Safari and since Trend Micro Toolbar is a 3rd-party extension, Safari may not be allowing it to be re-enabled.

For us to verify, we will be trying to install a different 3rd-party extension to Safari to check if it will be enabled. Please go to this link to install the YouTube5 extension to your Safari:

YouTube5 extension

Unzip the package and double-click the "YouTube5.safariextz" file. It will installed to Safari just as our Toolbar does.

In case the YouTube5 extension won't be installed as well on the Safari, this means that the issue is on Safari. Otherwise, it may be an issue of our toolbar.

Nevertheless, please let us know how this goes.

Thank you for the patience and have a great day! :)

Hi ohviolet,

Thank you for the updates. It seems that the issue is with Safari not allowing third-party extensions to be installed.

We'll report this to our respective team. In the meantime, you may use a different browser(i.e. Chrome) if you still would like to browse the Internet while being protected by the Trend Micro Toolbar.

We hope this helps and please let us know if you have further concerns.

Again, thank you for the patience and our sincerest apologies for this inconvenience.

Have a great day! :)
