Best Buy installed Trend Micro internet security for windows on my computer a hp Pavilion dv7-6c95dx and now i cannot open any of my desk top Icons unless I shut off Trend Micro

We understand that you are having troubles with regard to the Trend Micro program that you are using and the possible faults that it has caused you not to be able to open any of your programs. Allow me to help you with this.

May we know how are you shutting the Trend Micro down so you can access your files again? Are you uninstalling it or you are Stopping the Components from the diagnostic toolkit or, clicking on Exit on the Trend Micro icon on the taskbar?

Also, may we know if aside from the Trend Micro security, are you using any other Antivirus programs along with it? If yes, it is advisable that you remove the other AV first before with proceeding with the Trend Micro security installation.

If nothing happens, can we try to have the Trend Micro program installed to the latest build? Just uninstall the current Trend Micro Security and then click on this link to proceed with the reinstallation.

For programs purchased from Best Buy (US)

The link will allow you to download the latest build of the installer file. Just open it once the download is finished and it will be all set.

I just hitting exit on the task bar, then after I open a desk top icon i turn it back on. Absolutely no other AV. I'm sending this in before I uninstall. I have never had a problem with my computer before. Thank You
