Trend Micro Password Manager Extension Crashes Google Chrome

About 3 months ago, Chrome started crashing when I tried to search for and clear some cookies under SETTINGS in Chrome.  Until that time, the search and clear worked fine.  Beginning 3 months ago, when I typed the first letter of the cookies I wanted Chrome would crash and close.  If I did a manual search for the cookies and then selected the cookies for that website and manually tried to delete them, Chrome would crash and close.  I uninstalled TM Password manager, rebooted and Chrome worked fine!   I downloaded the PM installer and reinstalled TM Password manager extension.  The crashing returned.  Windows 10 9/18 update, Chrome Version 69.0.3497.100 (Official Build) (64-bit)

Hi jwmeyer.35076,

This is unusual. What other extensions are enabled on your Google Chrome? Also, does this happen on other browsers?

I sure would appreciate someone explaining why this massive push for Chrome. When it came out, I downloaded it & it destroyed my computer. PLEASE someone explain why Chrome even exists.

The only other extension enabled on Chrome is TM Toolbar.  I have Password Manager installed on the latest version of Firefox that I am looking to replace Chrome with.  I have encountered no problems with PM and Firefox.

Hi jwmeyer.35076,

Let's uninstall the password manager extension and install the Trend Micro Stand-Alone Application. This way we can check if it's the PM that's causing the problem or a Windows profile issue with Google Chrome.

i Kree:

I uninistalled and then reinstalled PM from the link supplied.  The Chrome browser still crashes as previously described.  Firefox still works properly.

Hello jwmeyer.35076,

Let us try to reinstall the whole Trend Micro Password Manager application on your computer, it may do the trick.

Before doing that, uninstall the existing version on your computer first. After that, follow the installation instructions here: Installing Password Manager
