Hi posts4pat

Welcome to TM Home users Community, a public site where volunteers try to help each-other , also there are TM Employees that can give answers, that is only at working hours.

May i suggest to put TM as first to start if the PC Starts Up.

And reboot.
Are you sure that you did not run programs that are in this list!

Here from you, good luck.

Kind regards,

The settings you indicated are useful to put a moderate load on PC start up , not on normal running.

The OP is complaining about 50% during normal operation.

Hi posts4pat! Welcome to the Community!

I would recommend that you check first if you already have the latest version installed on your computer. Just click the latest protection in blue below the scan button on the main console and check Version. Latest version is 12.0.1226. You may also refer to the link below.

Checking the program and version of the Trend Micro product installed on my computer

If you do not have yet the latest version, you can download it from here.

Installing Trend Micro Security

Otherwise, check the Task Manager and look for the specific component of Trend Micro that is consuming the CPU. It would be best if you can provide us a screenshot of it.

You may review this thread for reference if you are encountering the same issue.

I hope this helps!
