I work from home and use Trend Micro for protection. It is slowing down Google Chrome to the point that I have to stop work every time I google anything and wait. I work production, so this is not acceptable. Please advise how to stop this from happening. Thanks! :)

Thanks Tom. Yes, that is now I decided that it was TM that was causing the sluggishness, but I need virus protection when I am using Google Chrome as searching is a major part of my job.

Hi Sandra,

My experience  is that a lot of the problems come with the install.
So:
Uninstalling Trend Micro Security  using the Uninstall Tool
https://esupport.trendmicro.com/en-us/home/pages/technical-support/maximum-security-2017/1115650.asp...

Using the Trend Micro Remnant File Remover Tool
https://esupport.trendmicro.com/en-us/home/pages/technical-support/maximum-security-2017/1104912.asp...

Programs to remove before installing Trend Micro Security

Installing Internet Security 2018

After You configure TM again,
Put it on in Chrome again.

Kind regards,
Tom

Thanks so much, Tom, for helping out! :)

Welcome to the Community, sandrashelton1203!

May we ask what is the version of your Windows PC, is that a Windows 10, 8, or 7? And may we also ask for the version of your Google Chrome browser? You can open Google Chrome, go to "Customize and control Google Chrome" (at the upper right), click on Help > About Google Chrome.

Kindly also make sure to uninstall any other security programs that may be on your PC since this might cause performance issues.

Have a lovely weekend! :)
