Trend micro freezes during scans

My trend micro continues to freeze during scans on two different computers. I call customer service and was able to get it fixed about a month ago, but now it is freezing again.

It seems that there might be remnants of an older version of Trend Micro program still on your PC. Please make sure that there are no conflicting programs or any other security programs installed on your PC as well. Then doing a clean installation with the Trend Micro program may help. For that, you may try the steps from this link provided by TM_Pat.

Remnants of older versions and conflicting security programs may be the cause for this performance issue. Please let us know if you need further assistance.

It could be a bad hard drive or something just gets corrupted, and yes permissions.
