Hi. I have just received an alert on my iMac (10.13.4) that the Trend Micro "App is not optimised for your Mac". https://support.apple.com/en-au/HT208436 tells me that this is a one-time alert that the app runs 32Bit instead of 64Bit. Is Trend Micro addressing this & do I need to do anything? Thanks

Hi maddrell_s_r,

Welcome to Trend Micro Community!

Trend Micro Antivirus for Mac is compatible with Mac OS X version 10.13 "High Sierra".
Can you provide us a screenshot of your Trend Micro program main console?

All the best,

Hi Spencer!

Thank you for the screenshot, how about for the "App is not optimised for your Mac" do you still have that? The Trend Micro program is a 64bit version.
Before you received this pop up, did an update happened in your Mac?

Regards

Hi.  Here is a copy of the pop-up which appeared for the first time yesterday.  I clicked on 'Learn More" and link https://support.apple.com/en-au/HT208436  opened.  I've also included a screen shot of the last few updates on my iMac FYI:

Best wishes,

Spencer

Hello maddrell_s_r,

Thank you for providing the screenshot as requested.

As stated by TM_Phebs , the Trend Micro Antivirus for Mac is a 64-bit version.

The prompt message might be referring to the other applications on your mac.

You can check with the developers of the other apps with regards to the prompt message.

Should you have further inquiries or concern, feel free to post on the community in the future.

Best Regards,

Hi, I got the same message last night. It may have been a one-time only notification from Apple. But it was definitely about Trend Micro. The same message suggested I review the applications list in System Report to identify which applications aren't 64 bit. Take a look at this screenshot. It appears Trend Micro is listed as Intel, but not 64 bit.

Thank you elk!

Seems that the Trend Micro program you have is not of the latest version. Please uninstall it first and the reinstall using the latest version from our download center.

Let me know any update. Thanks!

Hello, I previously uninstalled the program using the function in the Diagnostic toolkit, and re-installed it using a fresh download from the link provided in this thread. (I have two Macs.)

So in the last few minutes, I just uninstalled the program on my other Mac using the instructions for the Installer file. I also re-installed using a fresh download.

The results are the same. This is still not showing as a 64-bit program. In fact, the Macs new warning message popped up immediately after install.

Solution provided in the original thread worked for others.

Please reference the new conversation here: Still shows 32-bit even after re-installation
