Trend Micro deleting my video game Yakuza 0's exe file even though its not a virus

Today (after owning the game for more than a month already) Trend Micro decided to start deleting the games .exe file claiming that it is the Mal_Ilomo-5 threat. This is not the case. And to top if off the program refuses to whitelist it.

Hello kurt.ziobro,

We're sorry to hear about this experience.

We will need to have a sample of the detected file for analysis. We might need to reclassify the file or to simply study it so we can provide you with a direct solution to this. We'll send you an email so you can reply with the sample of the detected file.

Regards,
Pat

Hi supers4g

Please upgrade to the latest version of the Trend Micro program and add this file to the Exception List. Here's how:

Configuring the Exception List of Trend Micro Security software

Also, were you able to take note of how it was detected by Trend Micro program? Normally, the program will show you a detection name. If you could provide it to us, we will be able to check it further.

This is still occurring. After several years of using MicroTrend this is enough to send me elsewhere if not resolved immediately

Hi LIVIn.l4rge,

Please try to add exact file of the game to Trend Micro Security's Exception List. You may check the steps here: Configuring the Exception List of Trend Micro Security software

Tried that, still no joy. Got about 15 extra seconds into the game's opening sequence before crashing and the files were deleted. How can I refund my subscription if this can not be resolved.

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled Trend Micro keeps deleting Yakuza 0 EXE.

I purchased Yakuza 0 from Steam a week ago, but Trend Micro keeps detecting the EXE file as a virus and removing it, rendering the game unplayable. I own several games from the same company, with no issues, so I know that it definitely isn't accurate. Also I've added it to the exception list several times, to no effect, Trend Micro just deletes it anyway.

-I'm not a Trend Micro representative-

Hello,

just to confirm, did you follow these steps to add exception list?

Try not to add the file manually, let the software to do so as per followinf image.

If the problem persist, try THIS SOLUTION.
