Trend Micro AntiSpam Toolbar for Outlook

Hi I am using TMS 2017 and Outlook 2016 on win10 I have 5 email addresses which I use via Outlook but the anti-spam only works with one Hotmail account, 3 talktalk & 1 Hotmail.co.uk are not covered by them spam filter, is this by design or a known issue - there are no setting on the tool bar or via main TMS for setting emails to be protected . hotmails are via outlook connect , talktalk are pop3. Thanks in advance

We would like to remind you that the Trend Micro Anti Spam toolbar does not support web based email services. It is because that our program does not have the ability to check the services that the web based email clients that you are using. The Trend Micro Anti Spam Toolbar can only be used on compatible email service or programs that is installed on your computer and not the ones that you access through a specific website.

You can also check the compatible by clicking this link and refer to the Supported Email Clients

Using the Antispam Toolbar of your Trend Micro Security

Take note that even if the email service that you are using the supported email protocols, the Antispam toolbar still requires you to use the supported email services.

hi thanks for your reply so I assume you are saying that the anti spam is NOT compatible with the outlook 2016 program that I access all my emails through even though it does work with the Hotmail.com email that I also access through outlook 2016?


But on your link it specifies compatible with outlook 2016 in win10, using pop3. So that covers my talktalk emails surely as they are delivered to outlook 2016 via pop3.[as mentioned in original post]

Both my Hotmail accounts use exactly the same protocol for outlook, but only one is compatible?

From what I understand, you've enabled the Anti-Spam toolbar on your Outlook 2016 and among the 5 email account that you are using, only 1 is working with the Anti-Spam toolbar. The reason behind this is that the Anti-Spam toolbar is only limited to the primary email account and does not support multiple instances of an email client. This is a limitation of the program and is included on the Known issues in Trend Micro Security.

If you want to the enable the Anti-Spam on the other accounts then the work around we have is to set the account that you want to use as the primary one, that way you can use the Anti-Spam toolbar on the said email account.

The Anti-spam toolbar doesn't show up at all on my Outlook 2016 (365) program, and thus not on any of the 3 email addresses I send and receive emails on.

Also, when I check the box to filter unsolicited spam emails, the program tells me to shut down the email program first.  The problem is that the program is NOT open.

Any help with either issue?

Please be informed that the Trend Micro Anti-Spam Toolbar does not work on Microsoft Outlook Click-to-Run version and on Microsoft Outlook 365 since this version is a cloud-based email software.

OK I am still on the same set up but yesterday got the MS Fall update to win10 1709 . Since then the toolbar has become inactive. The spam folder has disappeared. The add in is marked as active in Outlook and the AV. It show on the add in bar with trend micro clickable this gives a dropdown allowing me to activate. If I activate 'mark as spam' button activates BUT deactivates as soon as it's clicked. Alternatively after activating it I can use the drop down to access settings. As soon as I close the settings window the 'mark as spam button once again greys out. I have uninstalled/reinstalled trend with no improvement

For the good order, OS win10 1709 version, TM Maximum Security Outlook 2016
Primary account on pop3 (download the mail from a server)
If this is all true then it should by working, if not reinstall the office 2016 (not repair)
