Windows application log shows MSVCR100.dll related issue but when I shut down TM security, Resolve starts and runs normally. I want to be protected but I need to be able to use Resolve.

Hi artrice1,

Did you place the file mentioned in the exception list? (see Menu)

Kind regards,
Tom

I did but no help, even after a reboot.  Funny thing is, 12.1 and 12.2 start just fine.  12.5 just will not start until I shut down Trend Micro.  All three versions have the same name "Resolve.exe"  To be specific this is version 12.5.3.14 and I do have a call in to Black Magic Design (holiday weekend.)
Windows 10 Pro
Version 1607
64 Bit
16 G RAM

This is on both a laptop and desktop, both with i7 quad core processors.  TM support will need to solve this one.

Went through all of that. Uninstalled deleted components reinstalled. It's definitely a TM/Resolve issue. Other products are accessing msvcr100 just fine.

Hi artrice1,

Ok, Monday morning a TM  Employee should see this and reply!
Good luck.

Kind regards,

Hi Tom, thanks for helping!

Hi artrice1, sorry for my late reply. I understand your frustration.

From you description, the MSVCR100.dll exist on your computer and other programs can access it without problems - except Davinci Resolve. On the other hand, Davinci Resolve starts and runs normally if Trend Micro Security is disabled.

Have you tried copying the MSVCR100.dll to the installation folder of Davinci Resolve in C:\Program Files or C:\Program Files (x86)?

If it didn't work for you, as you're a valued subscriber of our Premium Support Service, we would like to recommend you to utilize our Premium Support which includes 24x7 Phone Support and online remote services to speed up the resolution.

Please find the premium service phone number in the "Call Premium Hotline" section in this page.

Well now, there's a novel idea.  Create yet another copy of MSVCR100.dll that Windows doesn't know about so that updates and uninstalls will not update or remove it.   Sorry Claudia, that isn't a fix, it's a kludge, and I'm not even going that route.  I'm surprised that you would even mention that.
I will be calling Phone Support but only to make them aware of the issue.  And, to let them know that I will be moving from TM to a smaller footprint product.  TM eats too many system resources for those of us working in audio and video.  This latest issue is just the proverbial "straw."  I was only using TM because the company I worked for required super tight security and I was NOT going to install Sophos on my system and give them total control.  Now that I am retired, I can use a product that does not constantly require more and more resources.
But, thanks for trying.

Hi Art, I'm sorry that my suggestion was just a workaround. If it was working different before, it should be a software conflicting issue for the latest version.

As the previous response, since you're a valued subscriber of our Premium Support Service, the technical specialist of Premium Support Team can help you remotely with advanced tools to quickly diagnose and gather logs if needed. Please contact the Premium Hotline at 24x7 for further assistance. Hope it helps!

Hi Art,

I installed the latest Davinci and resolve.exe starts without any problem, with TM 11.0
so i think it is related special to your PC, i saw when it is installing that 2 MS related with Visual C
programs installed to!
No TM related problems here!

Kind Regard,
Tom

It happens on three PCs. If I shut down TM it works fine. And works with other antivirus software. All PCs are Windows 10 pro from hp and Toshiba.
