TM and Malwarebytes Incompatibility is New and Needs to be Fixed

This is pure feedback. The most recent version of Maximum Security required me to remove Malwarebytes before the installation would go forward. A conflict with MWB has never been a problem in the past and the advice I got for putting MWB on the exception list did not help with the installation. I will now have to reinstall MWB and put it on the exception list. Something changed and it needs to be changed back (I've run the two together for years, litterally, with no issues).

-I'm not a Trend Micro representative-

Hello,
try disabling real time scanning in Malwarebytes, maybe it is active.

MWB wasn't active.  This is a change in TM behavior that needs to be fixed.  Thank you for the reply!

Hi DragonBrain,

We don't advise the use of more than one security programs on your computer because they create conflicts. In turn, your computer slows down and both programs could have performance issues from time to time.

Hello DragonBrain,

Thanks for making it clear. Trend Micro Security is designed not to install itself when there is a different antivirus software installed on your computer regardless if it's enabled or not.

Regards,
Pat

Thank you for the reply, Pat.  This has not been the case at any time before this update--either that or TM somehow missed MWB every other time as far back as I can remember.   From the very first installation of TM, far enough back that I can't even remember when that was, I have always had both on my machines.

Hi DragonBrain

We had the MWB discussion also a year ago also after the start of the new version and then it was already on the list to uninstall before the TM install!!!
And to use 2 real-time scanners on the same PC is wrong, but install it again after TM install and let real-time scanning off! Use it to scan some times.

Kind regards,
Tom

Thank you, Tom.  All I can tell you is my experience and it has been way more than a year since I started keeping both on my machines at the same time and I've never had this happen with an update (or new) installation.  It really doesn't make sense to force an uninstall--simply provide a warning and go forward.  If a problem arises, then recommend the uninstall of MWB in order to eliminate the issue.  But to intentionally stop the install seems silly.  As I already noted, further up in the thread, I reinstalled MWB after the update installation and I don't let MWB run in real time.

Hi DragonBrain

The only reason that you did not have a problem that you understand that MWB and TM not both do a real-time scan, but that you can not suspect from most of the users! And that is why TM did not want it on a PC while installing TM and that is for more programs of that list.
So keep both on your PC, is no problem, only not necessary, TM is enough protection, and i know, use TM from my first Win95 computer and never had a virus!
And i was a lot on Hack sites, my first PCcillin (TM) was also a clandestine version ;)

Good luck and kind regards,
Tom
