I have a Surface Pro 3 running Windows 10 and the file TiPreAU is constantly using a large amount of CPU and causing the CPU to run hot and the fan operate all the time and drain battery if not on mains power.
I went to Task Manger and 'End Task' which solved the problem. I have since restarted my computer and this file is not running in the Task List.
How do I restore this file and is it necessary? Thanks.
Regards
Glenn

Welcome to the Home Users Community, cis_lec!

Wow, good job in doing initial troubleshooting on your part! But sorry for the inconvenience.

TiPreAU is a component that's used during installation. It should ensure there are no conflicting programs installed on the PC and should ensure the installer you are currently using is the latest version.

So long as the Trend Micro program is already installed, that component is no longer needed.

Thank you for letting us know this and feel free to leave a post in the future! :)
