Many times a day I get this window:
Internet Security
suspicious Software Blocked
taskeng.exe

Neither OKing it nor eXiting it makes any difference.

Could someone please point me at the simplest and best way of killing it off?

Apologies for the inconvenience that you are experiencing, you are getting the Suspicious Software Blocked message if the file that is being detected has an unknown or malicious behavior. With this can you provide us a screenshot of the file location of the suspected file by going to the security reports. You can click on this link for you to see the steps on how to access the security report feature of the Trend Micro program.

Using the Security Report feature of Trend Micro Security

Once you have the screenshot of the file location of the suspected file please post it here so that we can check if the location is out of the ordinary. You can also run a full scan of the Trend Micro program to check your computer.
