System take over NOT appreciated, Bye bye Trend

Compaq DC 5750 SFF with 4GB ram Windows 7 Pro
Ever since I was "forced" to install Trend software [Geek Squad change of vendor and I had paid for renewal, not realizing the change of provider] my system has been bogged down and never get s a chance to rest. I use Task Manager to watch when my system is loading Windows updates etc to view system resource use. Since installing Trend software my PC just never gets to rest. CPU usage is ALWAYS active with Trend Core systems CoreServiceShell. I've tried to learn and manage the software [I come from a support background] but find even the supposed Helps files unhelpful. You rely too much on your community of users [Sounds a lot like Microsoft] to share their issues and 'provide answers'. 
Also all of my applications, especially web related, have slowed down to a point of near uselessness. So called "Mute mode" uses more resources and slows the system even further. I'm tired of the occupation by unfriendly 'security' forces and I will be uninstalling shortly.
