Spurious lack of disk space

I keep getting an error when computer slows. It says no available disk space. I check task manager and plenty of spare RAM and processor capacity. I then check the hard disk and to my amazement there is no space left because of the Trend Micro folder AMSP containing 169GB of data. I reset the computer, check the folder again and find it to contain nearly no data. can you explain or assist? IS this a virus targetting the Trend micro software?

Thank you for reporting this issue. First, AMSP log is a log which recording the operation (system activities) of your Maximum Security. For your issue, please follow the instruction below to check if your problem is solved after the debugging is off. 
  1. Stop or Exit the Maximum Security on your system tray icon. You can refer to Disabling Trend Micro Program to stop your Maximum Security temporary.
  2. Open the C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\AMSP\AmspConfig.ini using a text editor like Notepad. 
  3. Change the value of the following items to "0".
    DebugLevel = 0
    DebugLogAMSPServiceStart = 0  
  4. Save and close the file. 
  5. Restart the Maximum Security. You can refer to Enabling Trend Micro Program to restart your Maximum Security.
Note: This setting change will not affect the function of Maximum Security.
