Spectre/Meltdown patch will not install with Trend Micro Maximum Security 2018

Microsoft lists Trend Micro as one of the anti-virus vendors that has not yet updated its software to allow the Spectre/Meltdown patch from Microsoft to be installed. Moreover, Microsoft has stated that no further security updates will be offered to systems using an anti-virus that does not allow the Spectre/Meltdown patch. What is Trend doing to make its software compatible with the patch? When will the software allow the patch?
